Cuyuna Country offers fun for the whole family.
Stop and take a picture with the Big Deer in Deerwood. Go for a swim at Serpent Lake Park in downtown Crosby. Enjoy the gorgeous sand beach and crystal clear waters that make this one of the finest public beaches in the entire area!
If it's raining, the Croft Mine Pit tour is very educational for everyone and when you are underground, who cares what the weather does? Also the Jessie Hallett Memorial Library in downtown Crosby offers extensive resources for kids and adults alike. Computers with internet access are available at the library.
Also, if the weather is bad, head to the Hallett Community Center. A 75 foot lap pool and warm water children's' pool with waterslide for indoor fun! Call 218-546-2616 for open swimming times and rates.
On the east end of the Serpent Lake park in Crosby hosts a skateboard park next to the city offices. Also, behind the Wells Fargo/Chamber offices in Ironton there is a small child playground. There are also play grounds in Deerwood and Crosby.
The kids will love hiking and trout fishing in the mine lakes area. You can get good information from area bait shops like Oars and Mine on Highway 6 just outside of Crosby to the north. See our section on how to catch fish!
For the kid in all of us, the 4th of July fireworks are always the best in the area! Right on the shores of Serpent Lake you can watch this famous area display to cap off a great vacation time here in the Crosby Area. It's a great thing to do after the 4th of July parade earlier in the day. Check out the Events Calendar for times and other activities.
