One of the truly great things about Cuyuna Country is the wealth of winter activities. With the perfect blend of cold weather, ice and snow, you can spend as much time out of doors as you would during our glorious summers. Once the ice gets safe, about four inches for walking, a new exciting fishing season gets under way. Above is a photo from the recent annual Chamber of Commerce Icefishing and Scorpion Snowmobile Extravaganza on Serpent Lake in Crosby. We catch fish at our tournaments!
Whether you want to relax in a fish house or join the hundreds of portable nomadic icefisherman, you can't go wrong. We are twenty minutes from the greatest fishing in central Minnesota.
Mille Lacs and other legendary Brainerd Lakes Area lakes such as Gull, Pelican, and Edward are very close. Deerwood and Crosby have several smaller, lesser known gems holding excellent populations of panfish, northerns and walleyes. Check in with the knowledgable folks at Oars 'n Mine Bait Shop in Crosby (218-546-6912) for the up-to-the-minute fishing reports. 
Join us for the annual Serpent Lake icefishing contest in early February, check event calendar for dates and times. Registration starts at 10:00am at Crosby Memorial Park on Serpent Lake.
