Minnesota's Finest Diving | Cuyuna Country Mine Lakes
Considered one the very finest in diving adventures in the Midwest, Cuyuna country's mine lakes offer upwards of forty feet visibility. Several of the mine lakes have excellent launching facilities and one campground currently at the Portsmouth location. A Minnesota state park sticker is required to camp at the park.
The diving offers lots to see by way of wildlife. The old underwater forests play host to a diverse cross-section of aquatic life. Warm water and cold water species live in these mine lakes and offer spectacular viewing up close and personal.
Old mining artifacts are scattered among the lakes which offer the deep diver an opportunity to dive several hundred feet. Many of the mine lakes are 200 and more feet deep.
Rainbow trout are stocked and can be found in the deeper depths. You will also find their major predator, the northern pike, often reaching gargantuan proportions compliments of the high protein forage provided by the trout.
Call Midwest Diving in Brainerd for weekly dive shedules and classes all summer long.
